I’m a little in love with UK artist, Matthew Savidge. An artist who is putting the Kantian irrelevance behind us and bringing the Sublime into the 21st century.

Matthew Savdige performing Tracing the Landscape on top of May Hill, Gloucestershire, UK.

In “Tracing the Landscape”, Savdige set up a plexiglass pane in front on a beautiful, picturesque hillside, got out his sharpie and began to trace the forest from the trees. His lines begin to overlap as he tries to translate the subtle movements of the trees onto the glass surface, almost immediately rendering them into abstraction.

The performance results in an object that can stand on its own, but it’s enticing enough to make you want more.

Now, watch this video of Matthew in Action with someone who you feel superior to because they obviously can not see the simplistic beauty in the art as clearly as you can.

Enjoy with spite!
